-
What is the Mossy Market? The Mossy Market is my little corner of the enchanted woods—where you’ll find sustainably foraged live moss, natural curiosities, and magical odds and ends. Think fairy garden meets folklore apothecary.
-
Where do you source your moss and natural materials from? All my moss is lovingly foraged from private land in southeastern Victoria, where I’ve built a relationship with the landscape and always harvest with care and respect.
-
Is your moss sustainably harvested?Yes! I only collect small amounts at a time, rotating gathering spots and leaving plenty behind so the ecosystem stays happy and thriving. No plunder here—just peaceful pilfering.
-
What’s the difference between the small and large moss boxes? The small box is perfect for personal projects like a fairy garden or terrarium, while the large box is a mossy bounty fit for diorama queens, event decor, or deep forest spellwork. Both come bursting with variety.
-
How fresh is the moss when it arrives?Fresh as a fae on a misty morning. I pack and post it quickly to keep it lush, and most mosses handle travel like woodland champs.
-
Is the moss alive? Will it keep growing?Yes—most of the moss is alive and can continue growing if given the right conditions. It's slow-growing and low-maintenance, kind of like a chill forest roommate.
-
Can I plant the moss in my garden or terrarium? You sure can! It’s perfect for terrariums, bonsai, shady garden corners, and even haunted dollhouses if you're feeling extra.
-
How long will the moss last after delivery? With just a little love, your moss can last weeks to months—or even longer in the right setup. If it dries out, many types can be revived with moisture.
-
Is it safe to use moss indoors?Yep! Moss makes a fabulous indoor plant friend. Just avoid placing it somewhere too hot or sunny unless it’s a sun-loving variety (which I’ll always label for you).
-
How is the moss packaged and shipped?Carefully and with mossy love. I pack it in breathable containers to avoid condensation and spoilage, and I use recyclable materials whenever I can.
-
How long will it take for my moss box to arrive?Orders are usually packed within 1–3 business days. Delivery time depends on your location, but I’ll send tracking so you can watch your moss’s magical journey.
-
Do you ship outside of Australia? Not at the moment (customs and moss don’t always get along), but I’m hoping to one day! Join my newsletter if you'd like updates.
-
What’s your return and refund policy for moss?Because moss is a living thing (and frankly, it has a mind of its own), I don’t offer returns or refunds on moss boxes. Once it leaves my hands, it’s out there living its mossy truth. That said—if your order arrives looking very wrong, damaged, or not at all what you expected, please reach out within 48 hours. I can't promise a replacement, but I’m always open to a kind conversation. I want you to feel good about bringing a bit of the wild into your world.
-
Can I choose specific moss types for my order?I do offer a few specific moss varieties when they're available (they'll be listed separately in the shop), and I’m always happy to try and honour special requests! That said, moss is a seasonal, location-based little creature—and I only harvest what the forest allows. Sustainability comes first, so availability can shift like morning mist. But if you’ve got something particular in mind, don’t be shy—send me a message and I’ll do my best to make it happen. No promises, but lots of heart.
-
Can I use your moss in spellwork or altar setups?Oh yes. Moss is earthy, grounding, and magical in all the best ways. It brings the energy of ancient woods, resilience, and quiet growth—perfect for nature-based spellwork.
-
Is your moss suitable for dollhouses, fairy gardens, or crafts?Absolutely! It’s used by crafters, miniaturists, and magical folk alike. If you’re building a tiny witch’s den or a haunted parlour, you’re in the right place.
-
Do you offer curated moss for specific magical intentions? Not yet, but I’ve got ideas brewing. (Moss of Prosperity? Protection Patch? Let me know what you’d love to see!) Right now, each box carries forest energy ready to be shaped to your needs.
-
Are there any tips for preserving moss in jars or spell bottles?Use air-dried moss for jar spells or sealed crafts. It keeps its shape and color beautifully. Live moss needs airflow and moisture, so keep that in mind when bottling forest magic.
-
How should I care for my moss once it arrives?Gently unpack it, give it a spritz of water, and let it rest somewhere cool and shaded. It doesn’t ask for much—just a bit of humidity and TLC.
-
Does it need sunlight or watering?Indirect light is best. Think “dappled forest floor.” Keep it damp, not soaked. A spray bottle every few days will keep it smiling. Treat it like a woodland diva—cool temps, soft light, and the right kind of hydration. Indirect light is best (think “dappled forest floor” vibes), and you’ll want to keep it damp, not soaked. A gentle misting every few days will keep it perky. And here’s the key: use rainwater or distilled water whenever possible. Tap water often has minerals or chemicals that moss doesn’t love. Give it that forest spa treatment and it’ll reward you with velvety green goodness.
-
Do you sell subscription boxes?Soon! I’m brewing up themed boxes and seasonal bundles full of foresty goodness. Follow me on socials or sign up to the mailing list for launch updates.
-
Are your mosses safe for pets or children?Moss is generally non-toxic, but I always recommend keeping it out of reach of nibblers—just to be safe. Some decorative bits (like crystals or dried herbs) may not be kiddo-friendly.
